The ACT Nutrition Support Service (ACTNSS) is hosting its popular Kids School Holiday Cooking Classes in Chifley. The sessions are facilitated by food-loving dieticians. Imagine that! Your child will not only have fun but will also learn essential skills from true professionals.

It is specifically designed for children aged 8 to 12 years old. ACTNSS calls it a cooking adventure—and it truly sounds like one! The core focus is on building confidence and kitchen smarts. They will master a range of cooking methods and useful techniques. Furthermore, they are even taught important knife skills and food safety tips. It is serious skill-building disguised as a super fun activity.

The classes are structured as half-day sessions. They run from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon across two weeks in January 2026. This schedule offers parents a great bit of flexibility for those busy mornings.

Best of all, every single child prepares two dishes of their own from the recipe collection. What a great way to build independence! Your budding chef also gets to take home the official summer 2026 Kids Cooking Cookbook. This means the cooking adventure can continue long after the class ends.

The sessions are held at the dedicated Nutrition Australia ACT – Food Skills Kitchen. It is a safe and inspiring learning environment. For just $80 per session, it is a brilliant way to structure a few mornings of the long break.
