The Game On Community Pop-Up program is run by the wonderful Physical Activity Foundation. They aim to make physical activity easy and exciting for local families. Game On sets up free pop-up sessions right in your community. Think of it as a burst of energy delivered to a suburb near you!

So, how does it work? The focus is on primary school-aged children and their parents or guardians. But honestly, everyone is welcome to join in the fun. These sessions are totally free.

The list of activities is amazing. Kids can try everything from “Walk, Talk & Workout” family relays to mastering the “Run, Jump, Catch & Throw” session. Want to practice those soccer skills? “Fancy Footwork” with Coerver Coaching ACT has you covered.

Perhaps they need to build confidence on two wheels? The “Bike Skills & Drills” pop-ups are perfect for learning new tricks. Plus, you might even find an agility course led by a local fitness coach!

Speaking of fun, professionals guide every session. You’ll find coaches from groups like AFL Canberra, Kelly Sports ACT, and Canberra Ultimate. It’s a wonderful opportunity for kids to try new sports without commitment or cost. It truly is a family affair. Parents are encouraged to sweat it out right alongside their kids!

It gets even better. The Physical Activity Foundation knows that healthy bodies need fuel. They often offer free fresh fruit at the sessions. Parents might even snag a free cuppa!

They also give away cool prizes, like family passes or even a new bike. So, ditch the screens for an hour. Head out to a Game On session. It’s the perfect way to have a laugh and get active together in the heart of Canberra.
