Are you always looking for fun and educational activities for the younger members of your crew?
Head on over to the Canberra City Farm in Fyshwick. They run an amazing program called Little Green Thumbs Canberra. It is specifically designed for lower primary aged children and their families.
The program’s motto is “Play, eat, learn, and grow!” It sounds pretty perfect, right? In fact, the fun often starts with active games. This helps the children get settled and comfortable. It is a brilliant way to burn off some of that after-school energy. Then, it’s time to get those little hands busy!
This is a garden-based food education program. Children do not just look at vegetables. They learn exactly how food gets from the garden to their plate. They get to plant seeds. They water growing crops. They might even harvest a tasty snack! This kind of hands-on learning is invaluable for kids.
The sessions happen every Tuesday afternoon throughout the school term, typically from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm. You get to spend quality time outdoors with your kids. It is a wonderful environment to connect with nature. Furthermore, you will be supporting the great work of the Canberra City Farm community.
Little Green Thumbs Canberra is a brilliant, engaging activity. It is a fantastic way to turn screen time into green time!
Go check out the Canberra City Farm website for the next term’s enrolment details. We promise it will be a truly memorable family adventure!
