You might think archives are just for grown-ups. Think again! The National Archives of Australia (NAA) is actually hosting an incredible program called Murrulangalang Story Time. This event is all about discovery and imagination. The dedicated team brings captivating stories to life.
Your children get to actively participate in the fun. They will hear a delightful tale, of course. Then, they are encouraged to act it out and sing a song or two. This interactive approach is wonderful for their development.
The sessions use sensory toys and playful activities too. Consequently, it is a stimulating and welcoming experience for babies and children up to six years old.
Every session includes a fun scavenger hunt. Everyone works together to find ‘Archie the cat.’ Archie is cleverly hiding somewhere inside the historic East Block building. This little search adds an extra layer of playful discovery to the morning.
The best part for your budget? The Murrulangalang Story Time is completely free. It runs every Wednesday morning at 10:15 am. You will need to reserve your spot beforehand, so be sure to check the Archives’ website for details.
It is a fantastic opportunity for a whole family morning out. So, next Wednesday, skip the usual routine. Dive into the world of stories and history. We think you will be delighted.
