A to Z of Explosions: The Alphabet of Awesome Science Hits Canberra!

The Alphabet of Awesome Science, an award-winning show is heading to the Canberra Theatre Centre on March 26 and 27, 2026.

This isn’t your average sit-still-and-listen assembly; it is a high-octane race against the clock that will have your little ones (and probably you) leaning forward in your seats.

The show stars the quirky duo of Professor Lexi Con, the resident “Word Nerd,” and Professor Noel Edge, the “Science Freak.” Together, they attempt to navigate the entire alphabet in just 52 minutes. That gives them a mere two minutes per letter to reveal a massive, “chewy” new word and pair it with a mind-blowing scientific stunt.

Expect everything from erupting liquids and flying objects to sticky messes and plenty of dad jokes.

It is perfectly pitched for kids aged 5 to 12, making it a fantastic outing for primary schoolers who love to ask “why?” and “how?” While the science is real, the atmosphere is pure, chaotic fun.

If you are looking for a way to spark a love for STEM (and expand your child’s vocabulary beyond “cool”), this explosive hour of “alphabetical chaos” is a must-add to your 2026 calendar.
