This November, Commonwealth Park is transforming into a vibrant hub of music, culture, and community spirit for Rock for Reconciliation.

Hosted at the iconic Stage 88, this First Nations-led event is all about coming together. While the message behind the day is one of healing and unity, the atmosphere promises to be pure celebration.

Founded by Senior Ngunnawal Elder Aunty Violet Sheridan, it is a chance for Canberra families to connect with the oldest living culture in the world through a medium that everyone loves—live music.

But what about the little ones? You will be pleased to know that this isn’t just a concert; it is a full family festival. Between the toe-tapping sets from headliners like the electric-soul duo Electric Fields and the incredible Emily Wurramara, there is plenty to keep the kids entertained. We are talking about amusement rides that will burn off that weekend energy, and interactive cultural experiences that offer a hands-on way for children to learn about First Nations history.

When the hunger pangs strike, you won’t need to go far. A lineup of food stalls will be ready to serve up delicious treats, and there are market stalls to browse while you enjoy the tunes. The event runs from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm on Saturday, 29 November 2025.

Best of all? Entry is free! However, you do need to register for a ticket. Plus, ticket holders get free travel on Transport Canberra buses and light rail, so you can skip the parking hassle and make the journey part of the adventure.

It is rare to find an event that balances meaningful community connection with genuine family fun. So, grab your tickets, round up the kids, and get ready to rock Stage 88.
